|Not all Batteries are alike SUUNTO VECTOR,
If like me you’ve had to replace the battery in your Suunto Vector or similar, you may have thought the process really quick and simple!
The problem is that although the instruction manual is very comprehensive the section regarding battery replacement is incorrect and does not in fact tell the whole story!
After replacing the battery as specified you may have been confronted by frequent and unusual resets, where the watch is ok one minute and then defaults to 1800 on the 1st of Jan 2000.
This can happen at random and can stop for a while only to reappear in quick succession and is very annoying and time consuming as the cause is not obvious and refitting the battery only seems to be a temporary fix.
After a call to SUUNTO in Finland the cause is in fact the new battery you diligently installed as instructed as it appear to be the wrong size??
The SUUNTO answer is to not only replace the battery but also the battery cover and O seal. These items seem cheap enough from them until you realise that you will have pay the same again in P & P.
Enter AMAZON who are not only cheaper but who also send it free and very quickly.
Once installed the watch functions correctly again and has done so for nearly a month now without any problems.
It does feel slightly heavier but its worth it as you now have a timepiece you can trust again.
