About Us

Mama Noel is located in Creston, N.C.  We are about 25 miles from Boone, 25 miles from West Jefferson, N.C. and 12miles from Mountain City, Tn. 

We are situated on a 325 acre Christmas Tree Farm and are surrounded by 125 acres of Fraser Fir trees.  This is one of the most beautiful places on earth!

The Coan family came to the Blue Ridge mountains in 1976, after the death of our patriarch, James W. Coan.  Grace Coan, Jimmy’s wife, moved to the farm along with her five children.  Over the years, G.G.’s ( named by her grandchildren) children have come and gone and come back again.

We started selling wreaths to take to our Christmas tree lots in Austin and San Antonio.  We couldn’t keep our lots stocked with our beautiful wreaths, so we decided to start a mail order wreath business many years ago.  Over the years we have built up a large group of very satisfied customers and every year we look forward to “catching up” on the news of our wreath families.

Grace, age 93, has decided to retire this year and her daughter, Honey will be taking over the family wreath business.  Helping her will be her husband Thomas and her cousin Ruthie.
